How to make a Car Insurance claim

When you call
When you call, please have the following information available:
- Your registration number
- Your policy number if you have it
- The driver’s details and licence number
- An incident report number from the police (if they were involved)
- The other party’s details if relevant
What happens next
You’ve had an accident and you are upset and stressed. You may be injured and your car is damaged. Call us first and we’ll take care of everything. We’ve made the whole process simple and hassle-free.We ask you some questions then we provide you with a claim number and the excess payable.
We can assist you to manage your repairs from end to end by either arranging to have your car towed to the nearest Customer Management Centre, or we can book an inspection appointment for you to drive your car there. If there are no Centres near you we will either put you in touch with a local repairer from our network or we will make arrangements to tow your vehicle to a safe and secure location, or to a repairer nominated by you.
At the Customer Management Centre:
Your car will be inspected. This process takes around 20 – 30 minutes. Relax in our comfortable, child-friendly Centre while you wait.
You can leave the car with us to manage the repairs on your behalf, or you can drive it away (if it is safe to drive) and take it for repair at a more convenient time. If you leave the car with us, we will arrange a taxi to get you home.
You can choose a repairer from our network, who is conveniently located near your home or place of work. You can also choose your own repairer.
If you prefer to take your car home with you, you can organise to take it to the repairer at a time that’s more convenient for you. The repairer will contact you to arrange a convenient time to bring the vehicle in for repair.
